Supercopa: Barcelona clearly wins against Real Madrid

The scene of the game

Barça youngster Pedri’s 3-0 in the 69th minute finally decided the one-sided game.

The key figure

Gavi is only 18 but what he showed once morest Real was great cinema. First he turned ice-cold to a 1-0 lead, then he served Lewandowski in an exemplary manner to make it 2-0 and he also gave the assist for the third goal.

The better team

Real are usually almost invincible in finals, yesterday there was little evidence of that. Barcelona was clearly better and deservedly won at altitude.

The twittering of the stands

Last year, Real goalie Thibaut Courtois secured the title for the white ballet with his saves in the Champions League final once morest Liverpool. Yesterday he at least prevented an even higher clap for Los Blancos with several world-class reflexes.

The goals:

33.’ I 0:1 I Gavi: Dembélé and Lewandowski switch quickly and then Gavi converts ice cold. The youngster gives Blaugrana a 1-0 lead!

45.’ I 0:2 I Lewandowski: De Jong shifts very quickly in the middle and with Los Blancos they don’t know what’s going to happen to them. Gavi fits in the middle and Lewandowski has an easy time there. 2:0!

69.’ I 0:3 I Pedri: After a mistake in Real’s play structure, Barcelona switched once once more at lightning speed. At the end of the ball relay, Pedri pushes the ball over the line and increases to 3:0.

93.’ And 1:3 And Benzema: The Ballon d’Or winner was denied by ter Stegen following a cross from Ceballos, but turned the rebound into a cosmetic result in the net.

The outlook:

After the Supercopa, the two teams will continue straight away with the next cup competition. Barcelona travel to lower-league Ceuta in the Copa del Rey, while Real travel to Villarreal, where they last lost in La Liga.

vote for the game

Sergio Busquets (Barcelona): “At Barça you always have to win. Today went very well for us. Without the ball we defended well and put on a lot of pressure, like we did 1-0. Real barely got in front of our goal and had to suffer. Gavi is amazing. At his age, others are still playing in the offspring.”
