The Varoise Camélia Jordana will play the main role in a Disney + series for the first time

“Irresistible” (6 episodes of 30 minutes), whose filming has just started and whose broadcast date is not yet known, is one of the six new French productions on the Disney+ menu in 2023.

The others are the fiction series “Les amateurs, saison 2” (with François Damiens and Vincent Dedienne, available since January 4) and “Tout va bien” (with Virginie Efira and Nicole Garcia), the documentary series “Kaiser Karl” on fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, and the films “Antigang: the next generation” and “A zone to defend”.

After in particular the critically acclaimed series “Oussekine” last year, Disney +, “present in more than 100 countries“, would like to propose “more original French creations“, explained Pauline Dauvin, vice-president in charge of its original content, in a press release presenting its program for 2023.

France is full of talent”

France is full of talent, with real know-how when it comes to certain genres such as French action, which is particularly successful outside of France.“, she continued.

“Irresistible” is created by Clémence Madeleine-Perdrillat, who directed the writing of season 2 of the Arte series “In therapy”.

Camélia Jordana plays the role of a successful podcast creator who has a crush on a mathematician. But as soon as she finds herself in his presence, she experiences panic attacks due to the trauma left in her by a previous breakup.

The singer and actress from Toulon is accompanied on screen by Théo Navarro-Mussy (“Hippocrates”), Simon Ehrlacher (“Plus belle la vie”, “Les Revenants”) or Marion Séclin (“Christmas Flow”).

According to Disney+, “Irresistible” is set in “a realistic and authentic Paris, far from tourist clichés” and is partly shot “in rarely filmed districts”, the 19th and 20th arrondissements.

In addition to French productions, Disney+ will offer several new international series. Among them, “The Full Monty” (the sequel to the hit film 25 years later, with the same actors), “Ahsoka”, from the Star Wars universe, or even “Anatomy of a Divorce” (with Jesse Eisenberg and Claire Danes).
