Epos H6 ProDesign and ergonomics

The Epos H6PRO is more discreet than the brand’s previous models. However, it retains an assertive design without overdoing it on typical elements gaming. Thus, this new model does not have integrated RGB lighting and remains particularly sober in this midnight blue livery.

The metal headband features generous foam and is completely covered in black leatherette. This arch is intended to be of a very classic design with a sliding system which for it to be graduated in order to be able to maintain the correct adjustment over time. The amplitude offered by this adjustment system also allows the H6PRO to be “compatible” with the largest skulls.

Although it does not allow the ear cups to be folded at 90°, the H6PRO nevertheless offers a slight movement on this axis in order to flatten the bells around the ears. This double articulation also allows generous travel on the horizontal axis to maximize comfort and sound reproduction.

The very qualitative aspect of the helmet continues at the level of the ear cups. The latter have a generous shape memory foam covered with a leatherette covering. The part in contact with the skin, on the other hand, has a layer of suede-like fabric which improves comfort somewhat.

Regarding comfort, however, the H6PRO is not free from flaws. If its generous headband and the joints allow a good adaptation to the morphology of each, the atria are not as convincing. These exert a little too much pressure around the ears which can therefore be annoying during long sessions of use.

Like any good self-respecting gaming headset, the Epos H6PRO features a boom microphone. The latter has the particularity of being removable thanks to a clever magnetic system. The brand also provides two plastic covers to fill the gap left on the earpiece when the microphone is removed. The latter can also be raised along the arch, which will have the effect of cutting off the capture.

Although it is analog only, the H6PRO offers a volume adjustment wheel, integrated on the surface of the right ear cup. This affects the output volume of the headphones, without affecting the volume of the system. The connection with the computer being ensured by a braided jack cable of a generous length. A second cable with a combined jack plug is also provided in the box.

Epos H6 ProPerformances

Epos leaves little room for doubt as to its experience in sound reproduction. The H6PRO is an excellent pupil and delivers a clear sound that rings particularly true in all situations. This closed version offers a slight hint of extra bass, very classic for a gaming headset.

This slight highlighting of low frequencies will make sense in shooting games where explosions and other muffled noises will logically have more magnitude. However, the good accuracy of the headphones allows it to be completely comfortable for listening to music. The rest of the spectrum does not suffer from any major defect and the H6PRO delivers a very well defined sound.

We also benefit from good stereophony, associated with a sound stage wide enough to promote immersion in titles in which the sound environment is important. In short, the sound reproduction of the Epos H6PRO is very convincing!

As for the sound insulation, it is quite correct on this closed model. Very logically, if you turn to the open model, it will be necessary to consider that this insulation will be almost non-existent, both for you and for the people around you.

The microphone that equips the helmet also delivers interesting performances. It does better than a majority of competitors in capturing voice relatively clearly. The noise reduction is not the best on the market and the headset also suffers from the lack of dedicated software to configure it.
