Organized since 2010 by Unifrance – an organization responsible for promoting and exporting French cinema abroad – “My French Film Festival” is a annual meeting devoted to French-speaking cinema. It is held this year on more than seventy VOD platforms all over the world from January 13 to February 13, 2023 including TV5MONDEplus.
11 million views in 2022
With over 11 million recorded views Last year across 200 territories, MyFrenchFilmFestival is the first French-language online film festival.
The 13th edition, which takes place from January 13 to February 13, 2023, once once more offers internet users from around the world to discover 10 short films and 10 feature films in competition, as well as a selection of films presented out of competition, all subtitled in 12 languages.
Several rewards will be awarded at the end of the festival, we will come back to this at the end of the article.
A top-of-the-range selection accessible at low prices
The short films will be free worldwide, and the feature films available individually for €1.99 or in their entirety* for €7.99 per pack.
The festival will be completely free in Africa, Latin America, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Romania, Ukraine and Russia/CIS.
Internet users will be able to find the films of the selection on MyFrenchFilmFestival.com as well as on more than 70 VAD platforms which will relay the festival around the world. On TV5MONDEplus12 selected films will be exclusively available in Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean and in 5 Maghreb countries (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt) and subtitled in 4 languages.
The films presented
Among the selection of twenty-nine films, ten short films, Left unfinished in Tokyo, very first film directed by Olivier Assayasat Anxious Body, in the running for the César for best animated short film 2023, via Belle River, fascinating documentary in a city on the verge of disappearing under water, can be found free online throughout the duration of the event on the My French Festival website and partner platforms.

A jury at the heart of the news
In tribute to the struggle of women in Iran, it is Emily Atef, a Franco-Iranian director, born in Berlin, who is the president of the jury.
Emily Atef studied directing at the German Film Academy in Berlin. In 2005, her first feature Molly’s Way won the Best Screenplay Award at the 2005 Munich Film Festival and the Grand Jury Prize at the Mar del Plata Film Festival. His second feature, The Stranger in Me, was presented at Critics’ Week in Cannes in 2008. A grant from the Cannes Film Festival Cinéfondation was offered to him to write Kill Me in 2011. Three Days in Quiberon was presented in competition at the Berlinale in 2018. In 2021, Emily Atef directs Gaspard Ulliel and Vicky Krieps in More Than Ever, presented at the 75th edition of the Cannes Film Festival in the Un Certain Regard section.
In all, five prizes will be awarded at the end of the festival: the Grand Jury Prize which will reward a feature film in competition, two International Press Prizes which will reward a feature film and a short film in competition, and two Public Prize, Internet users from all over the world can vote for their favorite film(s) on myfrenchfilmfestival.com in order to reward a feature and a short film in competition.
