Macabre crime in Punta Arenas: subject benefited from probation dismembered another man in the bathroom of a house

A macabre crime occurred this Saturday followingnoon in a town located in the southwestern sector of Punta Arenas, Magallanes Region, where an individual murdered another subject, dismembering him inside a house.

According to police sources, the event occurred around 3:00 p.m., when Carabineros from the southern city answered a phone call from a woman, who requested the presence of police personnel at a home located in the Nelda Panicucci population, assuring that his son had murdered another person.

After the arrival of uniformed troops at the site of the event, the only suspect in the act would have acknowledged his responsibility for the crime, stating that he had dismembered the victim in the bathroom of the house.

When corroborating the veracity of what happened, personnel from the Carabineros found a man in his 30s, with his limbs separated from his torso, inside a tub.

Meanwhile, the place of the homicide would be an uninhabited house used by third parties for the consumption of alcohol and drugs.

Following the foregoing, the subject was detained by officials of the Punta Arenas Carabineros, who at the same time reported the facts to prosecutor Manuel Soto, who instructed that specialized personnel from the Crime Laboratory (Labocar) and the Police Investigation Section ( SIP) of the institution carry out the rigorous tests.

It should be noted that the alleged perpetrator, identified as Adalio Mansilla Quinchaman, he had been granted parole in October 2021following having been sentenced by the Oral Criminal Court of Punta Arenas in 2016 to serve a ten-year prison sentence for the crime of homicide, and following serving half of his sentence, he obtained the benefit of having the go-ahead in the psychosocial report drawn up by the Gendarmerie.

Currently, he did not have valid arrest warrants, however, he does have a criminal record for crimes such as threats, possession of a sharp weapon, breaking and entering, less serious injuries, serious injuries, and qualified homicide.
