Being able to create portable programs on the flash drive, with which you will not need to install them on another computer to be able to use them, will give you a lot of comfort because you will feel as if you were using your personal computer. Thus, it is a practice that surely it has occurred to you to carry out, especially if you will be using a PC that is not yours and you want to open the applications that you normally have at your fingertips for certain tasks.
Also, it can happen that an app needs you to have a registered account to work, but you don’t want to enter it because it would be activated on a device that doesn’t belong to you. For that and more situations, the programs on a USB will save you from trouble.
How to install portable apps?
First, you must have PortableApps, the service with which your flash drive will become an application center that can be used on any computer. Thanks to this, the programs will work on another Windows computer from a USB stick.
- Descargar PortableApps from the developer’s website.
- Touch the button “Download from PortableApps.com” and, when it is downloaded, connect the USB that you will use to your PC.
- You must install it and follow the steps, until you see the option “Portable – install on a portable device”which you must mark.
- Choose usb drive that you connected and press on “Install”.
- Brand “Run PortableApps.com Platform” and the program will be launched directly.
When it runs, you will be able to see the list of apps that you can install on the selected flash drive, choose only the ones that you will use so that it does not clutter up the storage space.
Once you choose them, click on “Next” and you will appreciate how the files are downloaded and the installation process will start on your USB. After that, in the part central part of the PortableApps interface you will see the elements that you downloaded by categories.
To use the applications, click on the item “Start.exe”the same one that will open PortableApps and from the menu you will access the service of your interest.
