The NFL playoffs are hard fought. Out of 32 teams, only 14 make it to the Wild Card Round, Divisional Playoffs and finally the Championship Games to advance to the Super Bowl. Shows you which teams are qualified for the playoffs SPOX.
On February 12, 2023 in Glendale, Arizona, the 57th Super Bowl champion will be determined. Whoever gets the chance to win the Vince Lomardi Trophy in the grand finals will be out in the playoffs.
The 18 game days of the regular season will determine which teams qualify for the knockout phase. SPOX gives you an overview of which teams have already qualified and which teams no longer have a chance of progressing.
NFL: These teams are qualified for the 2023 playoffs
The NFL is divided into two conferences. One is the American Football Conference (AFC) and the other is the National Football Conference (NFC). Both conferences hold their own playoffs that end up sending a winner to the Super Bowl.
Seven teams qualify for the playoffs per conference. These seven teams are made up of the four division winners and three other wildcard teams.
The top seed of the respective conference, i.e. the best team, gets a bye in the first round. As usual, the first four places are sorted according to the balance sheet. The other three spots go to the wildcard teams.
NFL: These Teams Are Qualified For The 2023 Playoffs – The AFC
It took a little longer in the AFC than in the NFC, but here too the first playoff teams have now been determined. The Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs lead their respective divisions with a record of 11-3. These are the already qualified franchises:
- Buffalo Bills
- Kansas City Chiefs

In the National Football Conference, the top 5 is solid, even as the gap narrows. The Philadelphia Eagles (13-1) currently hold the top seed of the NFC. They are the first team to secure the playoffs. Also safe in the postseason are the San Francisco 49ers, who clinched the division title by beating the Seattle Seahawks – as well as the Minnesota Vikings and the Dallas Cowboys.

NFL: These teams no longer have a chance of making the playoffs
So far it has only hit four teams who have no chance of reaching the playoffs. The Chicago Bears became the first NFC team not to make the 2022 postseason. Especially because of the six losses in a row between Week 8 and Week 13, the Bears are out of the running. The Arizona Cardinals have since joined.
In the AFC, a second team followed the already eliminated Houston Texans, who have only managed to win once so far. Namely, it’s the Denver Broncos who will miss the playoffs. This makes Russell Wilson’s first season in Denver a huge disappointment.

- Denver Broncos
- Houston Texans
- Chicago Bears
- Arizona Cardinals
