Controversy arose in Egypt following one of the divers claimed on the social networking site Facebook that suspicious sounds were issued from the site of the “Salem Express” shipwreck.
The diver claimed suspicious sounds from the site of the shipwreck, which sank nearly 31 years ago, specifically on December 15, 1991 during the reign of the late Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, which was on its way from Saudi Arabia to Egypt, with a large number of Egyptian pilgrims on board.
According to the “Cairo 24” website, the claims of the author of the post were met with a violent attack from the pioneers of social networking sites, as dozens accused him of spreading rumors in search of the trend, stressing that the Salem Express – the second shipwreck attracts diving enthusiasts according to the demand, following the wreck of the sunken British supply ship.
