Celtic offered 3 million euros (regarding 4 billion won) for the transfer fee of Cho Kyu-sung, and then decided to apply 50% cell-on, but limit the upper limit to the transfer fee. Jeonbuk can receive up to 6 million euros from the transfer of Cho Kyu-seong.
According to Romano, American Major League Soccer (MLS) Minnesota also offered Cell-on as a condition for the transfer of Cho Kyu-seong. The cell-on rate is 30%, which is lower than Celtic, but there is no upper limit on the total amount paid, and the transfer fee originally proposed reached 5 million euros. In addition, Minnesota guarantees the issuance of permanent residency in the United States even to Cho Kyu-sung’s family and is making efforts to recruit him.
