Samsung released according to the press release soon software updates for its wearables Galaxy Buds2 Pro and Galaxy Watch4 and Watch5. New: The 360° audio recording feature enables surround sound recordings with the Galaxy Buds2 Pro headphones. According to the manufacturer, the new update for the smartwatches in the Galaxy Watch series enables easier remote control of the zoom function of the camera controller.
The 360° audio recording function mentioned captures the sound recordings in a surround environment. However, this only works if you use the headphones in conjunction with a Galaxy smartphone with One UI 5.0 or higher and LE audio support. Your smartphone should also be equipped with the latest firmware. To activate the function, go to the Samsung camera app and go to the camera settings. After you have selected the video mode, tap on “Advanced video options” and activate the 360° audio recording there. Each individual microphone in the Galaxy Buds2 Pro then picks up the soundscape in a 360° angle.
With the software update of the aforementioned smartwatches from Samsung, the camera controller has been expanded to include a zoom function. It is activated by pressing the display and can be adjusted with the bezel of the watch. The function is suitable, for example, for group photos or individual selfies from a distance, because the image section is now set via remote control.
Availability
The new 360° audio recording feature will be released as an update later today and will be available worldwide on January 17 for the Galaxy Bud2 Pro, Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Fold4. The camera controller update also mentioned will not be available for download until February 2023 for the Galaxy Watch5, Watch5 Pro, Watch4 and Watch4 Classic. Availability may vary by market, carrier, model and paired smartphone. The update is initially available for Bluetooth versions and will later be extended to LTE versions.
