Doha: Qatar ranks first in the ranking of countries that attract talents (talent migration). The World Competitiveness Center (WCC), part of the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), has ranked Qatar thirty-fourth in the 2022 IMD World Talent Rankings.

Out of the 63 economies surveyed, Qatar fell three places to its current position. Qatar was ranked 24th in 2018 and 26th, 29th and 31st respectively in the last four reports.

According to the ranking in its 9th edition, the nature of talent migration means that governments and businesses need to attract local and foreign talent to improve the overall quality of their economies.

Qatar ranks 44th in terms of investment and development of home talent, second only to Saudi Arabia and ahead of the UAE.

In availability of talent in the talent pool, Qatar finished 30th, while in attracting global talent, the country rose three places to 22nd from the previous year.

Rounding out the top 10 are Switzerland, Sweden, Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Luxembourg, Austria, the Netherlands and Germany. In the Gulf, the UAE (21st), Saudi Arabia (30th), Qatar (34th) and Bahrain (35th).
