The calendar of F1 presentations for the 2023 season continues to fill up. This Thursday is Mercedes who has joined the list of teams that have defined the date on which the veil will be lifted on their new single-seater. Confirmation is also made that, as expected, the week preceding the winter tests scheduled in Bahrain will be eventful.
After a difficult season, punctuated by a single victory and a fall to third place in the constructors’ championship, Mercedes will unveil its new silver arrow on Wednesday February 15, at the Silverstone circuit. It will be officially baptized W14 E Performance and will once once more be entrusted to the seven-time World Champion. Lewis Hamilton and his compatriot George Russell.
By giving an appointment today for next month, the German team also insists on its ardent desire to turn the page 2022 and to leave behind it a W13 which disappointed and which is staged in a video where we definitely sees it as a thing of the past.
“The W13 won’t be remembered as the fastest single-seater ever built, but lessons learned in 2022 might make it the most important”however, underlines the team led by Toto Wolff. “On February 15, the Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance will be presented.”
While Williams and AlphaTauri will open the ball of presentations at the beginning of February, but only by revealing their livery, the following week should allow us to see the first trends in the new single-seaters. Now, there are only three teams that have not announced a presentation date, starting with the reigning World Champions at Red Bull. This is also the case with Alfa Romeo and Haas.
Winter testing will take place in Bahrain from February 23-25, a week before the first Grand Prix of the season, also contested at the Sakhir circuit.
