Al-Marsad Newspaper: Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabiah, head of the Iraqi Siamese twins separation operation team, “Ali and Omar”, revealed the expected success rate of the separation operation.
Al-Rabeeah said that the surgery is expected to take place in six stages and take 11 hours.
He pointed out that the success rate of the operation is 70% due to the adhesion of the twins to the lower chest and abdomen, and that they share the liver, bile ducts and intestines.
Al-Rabeeah pointed out that the twins underwent the implantation of skin extension devices by the plastic surgery team to help cover the surgical site following the separation.
