It’s time for a crossover for the AMC franchise. After the main series, this is its first spin-off which gives way to the next generation.
Launched in 2015, Fear The Walking Dead was the very first series derived from the original, The Walking Dead. Conceived and produced by the author of the comics in person, Robert Kirkman, the show had the ambition to dwell on other characters and to offer a different vision of the famous post-apocalyptic world infested living dead. From its fourth season, Fear The Walking Dead particularly refocused on one of the key characters from the early days of its parent series, Morgan Jones (Lennie James). Despite good audiences at its launch, bringing together more than 10 million American viewers in front of AMCthe series has lost its tone over the seasons.
Place for young people
Some ardent defenders of this different narrative angle will no doubt regret it, but will be able to enjoy a final season, which its broadcaster has started to teaser with new images. But it’s time to say goodbye, since the new generation, numerous, will soon invade the screens. After Tales of the Walking Deadnot less than three new spin-offsall focused on much more iconic characters, it’s a safe bet that AMC did not want to take the risk of a zombie overdose for spectators already well served in terms of putrefied flesh.
zombies never die
On Instagram, one of the main actors of the series, Colman Domingo, praised the work of the teams during this journey which he describes as epic. He also did not forget to thank his character Victor Strand for the incredible universe he allowed him to discover and the pleasure he had in interpreting this sociopathic monster. The eighth and final season of Fear The Walking Dead will begin its broadcast on AMC on May 14 in the United States, and probably in stride on Canal + and Prime Video. An end in the form of a beginning, for all the new productions to come around this decidedly indestructible license.
