In the midst of the struggle between the ruling party and the opposition over how the extraordinary sessions will be carried out in the National Congress, the Córdoba Federal bloc, which answers to Governor Juan Schiaretti, demands that there be “broad consensus” to approve the laws requested by the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa.

“Judicial rulings must be complied with. We are not going to endorse any institutional outrage. Some speak and give their opinion regarding the attacks on democracy in other countries, but here they want to wear the Supreme Court of Justice,” argued Gutiérrez, in obvious reference to the Frente de Todos.
Beyond the issue of the impeachment request to the Supreme Court, the call for extraordinary sessions will also include various economic laws promoted by Minister Massa.
In this sense, from the Schiarettista bloc they were also very cautious. Moreover, they demand that there be “broad political consensus” to approve some of these projects promoted by the influential Minister of Economy.
“We are going to give a quorum only if the laws have a broad political consensus. In reality, we are advancing more than what reality marks, because the call for extraordinary sessions with the theme of these has not yet been issued. From what has transpired, there are some initiatives that have some positive points, but the decision has already been made: without a broad consensus, we will not give a quorum”, ratified the head of the schiarettista bloc.
Regarding the money laundering that the Minister of Economy has been proposing, Gutiérrez was blunt. “In this case, our position is very clear: money laundering must be shared; Otherwise, we will oppose it”, argued the Cordovan Peronist deputy.
Looking at the agricultural sector
Another of the laws that might be dealt with in extraordinary sessions, according to sources from the national ruling party, is a new law called “agribusiness.”
In this case, the schiarettista bench refloated an old claim that the governor of Córdoba has been making: gradual reduction of agricultural withholdings.
“The question of the agricultural sector is very sensitive for Córdoba. Our position has always been the same: withholdings should be gradually lowered. Otherwise, we will not give a quorum,” said Deputy Gutiérrez.
In this sense, the schiarettista deputy also pointed to the main opposition bloc, which he accuses of “not gambling” for demanding a reduction in agricultural withholdings.
“Together for Change is speculating on this issue. He believes that they will govern the country from next December 10, so he does not seem very interested in starting to lower the withholdings. On this issue, we must be very clear and forceful: demand the gradual reduction of withholdings”, concluded Gutiérrez.
