The General Administration of Education in the Asir region, represented by the Department of School Health Affairs, in cooperation with the School Health Department of the General Directorate of Health Affairs in the region, organized a “Mental Health and Electronic Games” forum, in the presence of 550 male and female supervisors, male and female health mentors, and 6,000 students. The meeting aims to warn of negative effects on the behavior of children and adolescents in terms of the reflection of violent methods and negative behaviors that do not belong to our Islamic values, and our Arab customs and traditions. The forum, which was presented by family and community health physician Dr. Tamer Shiha, dealt with several axes, most notably: smart devices..necessity or luxury, addiction to smart devices.. fact or myth, the benefits of using smart devices, and the harms of using them, in addition to the rules for the optimal use of smart devices. The meeting concluded with an awareness video, and a number of posts and interventions.
