An An-26 plane that departed from Magan airport in the Russian Sakha Republic (Yakutia) was forced to make an emergency landing a few minutes following takeoff following a loading ramp door was opened mid-air , the Transport Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported.
According to the authorities, it is suspected that the incident was caused by a malfunction in one of the locks on the right ramp. As a consequence, part of the baggage flew out and the cabin depressurized, so the captain decided to return to the airport of departure.
According to official reports, none of the 31 people on board, 25 passengers and six crew members, were injured. Similarly, no major damage to the aircraft structure is reported.
