160 medical students from Xochicalco begin induction course

Nearly 160 students of the Medicine Degree of the Xochicalco University began the induction course to the second level, in which they learned the contents that they will address in hospitals and medical units, where they will already have direct contact with real patients.

Simitrio Rojas Vergara, director of the Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad Xochicalco Ensenada campus, explained that these are fifth to ninth semester students, who will already take their classes in the clinical fields.

He stressed that, with this type of activities, the aim is to involve and commit young people in their careers and inform them regarding the performance of the activities that they will be carrying out in the medical units.

The director of the faculty recalled that the academic institution is linked to all hospitals in the public and private health sector of the city and Baja California.

For her part, Kenia Marín Machado, academic director at the Ensenada campus, indicated that it is during these induction courses that students know the important dates and recommendations to begin their work in the real field.

He mentioned that it is also an opportunity in which the students of more advanced semesters share with those who are just entering the second level some recommendations or experiences that they have had during their stays.

Likewise, he said that during these induction courses, relevant topics are taught in the Health sector, which is essential both for students who have just entered and those who are already in more advanced semesters.
