Lee Ki-young’s house escapes from euthanasia of four neglected pets

All the pets left behind in the residence of Lee Ki-young (32), who is under investigation by the prosecution following being arrested for the murder of a taxi driver and his cohabitant, have all moved to the arms of a new family.

According to Paju City, Gyeonggi Province and the Korea Animal Rescue Management Association on the 10th, all three cats and one dog abandoned in Lee’s residence in Paju City escaped from the euthanasia crisis as they underwent adoption procedures.

These companion animals were enrolled in the Korea Animal Rescue Management Association for protection, but are usually euthanized if there is no adoption inquiry for regarding 20 days.

Previously, Lee Ki-young raised pets while living with the woman he murdered, and following the murder of the taxi driver was discovered and arrested by the police, only pets were left in an empty house.

Afterwards, the management office, which received reports of hearing dogs barking, informed the city of Paju, and the Korea Animal Rescue Management Association, an abandoned animal shelter entrusted to Paju, rescued and protected it.

Meanwhile, on August 7-8 of last year, Mr. Lee killed a woman in her 50s who was the landlord and lived with her at her house in Paju, and then abandoned the body in Gongneungcheon Stream. On December 20 of last year, he was arrested on charges of bringing a taxi driver in his 60s who had a collision while driving drunk to his home for a settlement, killing him, and hiding the body in a closet.

The search for the body of his partner is ongoing.
