On the northbound lane of the 409km northbound lane of Taidong Highway 9 in Dawu Township, Taitung, this morning a freight tractor carrying salad oil was not tightly bound, and more than 100 barrels of oil fell on the road, and the leaked oil was like a river of oil. Normal traffic has resumed. The Dawu Police Sub-bureau stated that it received a report from the public at regarding 9:00 in the morning. On the 409 km northbound (to Taitung City) lane of Provincial Highway 9, some goods fell on the road. The police immediately arrived at the scene to guide the traffic and notify the Dawu Engineering Section Crews arrived to clear the road.
It is understood that a person surnamed Chen was driving a commercial freight tractor truck, carrying edible salad oil from south to north, and passing the accident site. Because the goods were not tied firmly, more than 100 barrels of salad oil fell on the road, and the oil leakage affected regarding 200 roads. The vehicles behind did not dare to pass.
Personnel from the Dawu Public Works Section used sawdust to remove oil stains. The south and north directions of this road section controlled the inner lanes, and the outer lanes were used for traffic; personnel from the Public Works Section and the freight company cleared salad oil barrels by the roadside.
The police pointed out that the driver surnamed Chen was not tied tightly to the cargo, which caused the cargo to fall off.
