The governor of the city of Carinthia (Austria), Peter Kaiser, declared on Saturday that he was in favor of controlled labor immigration, within the framework of regular mobility and respectful of the rule of law “where it is desired”. Guest at Journal zu Gast on Ö1, he mentioned, in this sense, agreements with third countries such as Morocco or Tunisia. This organization should make it possible to reduce irregular immigration, according to him.
If the countries concerned agree to take back their migrants in an irregular administrative situation, “they must in return obtain possibilities for legal labor migration to Austria”, indicates Peter Kaiser of the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ). “But this will also mean that we create the appropriate infrastructures, in cooperation with these third countries on the spot, in the States themselves”, he indicated, thus advocating a form of outsourced management as a means of “depriving smugglers of their human prey.
