Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Algerian player Riyad Mahrez scored two goals, through which he led his club, Manchester City, to beat Chelsea, 4/0, in a match that was held at the Etihad Stadium, in the third round of the FA Cup.
The Algerian striker opened the goals of the match, with a direct free kick in the 23rd minute, and scored the fourth goal for his team from the penalty mark in the 85th minute, to contribute to the qualification of the “Citizens” to the 32nd round in the competition.
Mahrez, 31, went through a bad phase during the current season, as he suffered in terms of scoring contribution, whether by scoring or making, while his participation was limited to a few minutes during matches in various competitions.
Riyad Mahrez was able to restore confidence by scoring 3 goals once morest Chelsea in the last two matches, the first in the (Premier League) last Thursday, and the second in the FA Cup, on Sunday evening.
