An event called ‘Take off your pants and take the subway’ is held in London, England.
The British daily Daily Mail reported on the 8th (local time) that British citizens took part in the so-called ‘Take off your pants and ride the subway’ event, boarding the Elizabeth Ling train while taking off their pants.
The rule for this event is that regardless of gender or age, the top should be worn as usual, and shoes should be worn, but only underwear should be worn at the bottom. Also, even if you are not wearing bottoms, do not be shy and behave normally.
This event started in 2002 as a joke by an organization called ‘Improve Everywhere’ in New York, but has now become an ‘international event’ that has spread worldwide.
It was suspended in 2020 due to the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19), but resumed this year. Currently, it has become a global event that thousands of people attend in 60 cities around the world every January.
Eight people who participated in the 2006 event were arrested by New York police for disorderly conduct, but a New York court ruled that it was not illegal to take off your pants and ride the subway.
