Nino Niederreiter had a very successful streak with the Carolina Hurricanes (69 goals and 68 assists in 234 games) from 2019 to the summer of 2022 before moving to the Nashville Predators. On Thursday, the Swiss striker returned to his old place of work for the first time and spoke regarding his time there.
“It’s something special and always very emotional to return to a place where you’ve worked for a certain time,” confesses Niederreiter the morning following training. “It feels crazy.”

Niederreiter used the time to catch up with former colleagues Sebastian Oh and met Jesper Fast the night before. “I went to dinner with Aho and Fasti yesterday,” he says. “It was great that we talked regarding the old days. It was definitely nice to see them.”
In his opinion, Niederreiter cannot help with tips on how his Predators might win once morest the Hurricanes. “Everyone knows how Carolina plays,” he clarifies. “They’re an elite team, very fast and they get the little things right. They have a great work ethic. Everyone in the league knows that, so there’s not much for me to tell. It’s always a big challenge to compete here and that we have to accept.”
