Attention! Metro Line A suspended due to “incident with person on the road”

On its Twitter account, the Medellín Metro announced that the operation of Line A is interrupted this Sunday due to an “incident with a person on the road” that occurred around 5:10 in the followingnoon.

For its part, Line B also presents inconsistencies and is only operating between the San Javier and Cisneros stations.

The last time the company had reported an incident of this type was on December 30, when a 27-year-old woman jumped into the subway and dragged her 8-year-old daughter with her. Her mother passed away and the little girl, although she survived, lost one of her legs.

The Metro’s policy is not to give figures on these events in the stations —attempts, because on many occasions people survive with the trace of injuries and amputations. However, last year the company announced on its social networks various problems in the commercial operation due to an “incident with a person on the road.” According to information shared on Twitter, the system recorded 12 such cases.

The cases were reported on these dates: February 3, 11 and 13, March 13, April 19, May 19, July 14, September 5, November 10 and 15, and December 12 and 30. The cases publicly reported by the system under this modality, in 2021, were four: April 23, November 2 and 20, and December 12.
