From the most classic connected objects to the most incongruous. The Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas has its share of unexpected innovations every year. This year, the Canadian start-up Glüxkind is making headlines with its connected and smart stroller. A novelty spotted in particular by our colleagues from Guardian.
A “safety bubble” 360 degrees
For the tidy sum of $3,300 (regarding €3,140), young parents can count on a connected stroller, called “Ella” and having the autopilot. It can thus be used without hands, empty, and will be able to detect obstacles and dangers on its way in a completely autonomous way, thanks to artificial intelligence. Entirely electric, the engine of the stroller makes it possible to tow the 13.6 kg of the device on slopes and to brake automatically when descending. The electric assistance will be restricted as soon as 6.4 km / h is reached. on the handle will make sure that the parents maintain the machine well when baby is on board.
A pram that is also very practical for shopping: it can accommodate up to six bags of groceries. The sensors present on the exterior of the stroller also allow parents to be alerted to the dangers in the vicinity, by means of light and sound signals on the handle, a real “safety bubble” in 360 degrees. A mobile application is also delivered with Ella. Software allowing you to follow the position of the device in real time, to trace the history of your walk or to find the lost stroller. Finally, following an outing, a little tiring, the stroller transforms and becomes a real independent lullaby.By going back and forth continuously and generating white noise, baby will fall asleep very quickly.

Glüxkind, the name of the start-up behind the 2.0 stroller, comes directly from a German word for a “lucky child.“The company was founded in 2020 by Anne Hunger and Kevin Huang, two designers inspired by their own life as new parents.
