During the press briefing from the prefecture yesterday, the departmental delegate of the Regional Health Agency Joris Jonon spoke of epidemic superimpositions. The first is linked to Covid-19, which is on a downward trend with an incidence rate for Lot-et-Garonne of 239 per 100,000 inhabitants and 332 in the case of people aged 65 and over. This is in the slightly high average with a range between 180 and 320. As regards the positivity rate, it amounts to 23.4% for the general population and 22.5% for those aged 65 and over. more, always in terms of the general population. The passage to the emergency room for suspicion of Covid is moderate, around 1.3% and hospitalizations have decreased for patients admitted with or for positive Covid-19: 49 people are hospitalized, including two in intensive care. “The trend is more favorable with a drop in viral circulation”, noted Joris Jonon.
The bronchiolitis is also improving. It continues to decline, even if the kinetics remain slow. A drop in hospital activity was observed in pediatric care and continuing care and a decrease in emergency room activity on this point, as well as a drop in medical procedures.
Influenza, on the other hand, is still on the rise with an epidemic phase entering its fourth week. An epidemic considered early and of high intensity still according to the head of the ARS. There has been a surge in both liberal and hospital activity for flu-like syndromes, without, however, the health response proving outdated in terms of requests from the public.
On the bird flu front, nothing notable except for the 4th outbreak in the Gers which is worrying. The chief of staff of the prefect, who led the meeting yesterday, assured that everything was prepared upstream with the competent services for a possibility of energy shedding, but the mild weather and the green indicators leave respite before a possible wave of cold. “We have no particular warning signs. But sobriety must call for modest and reasonable consumption in order to promote sustainable development and act in the longer term on the carbon footprint”.
