SEOUL, 08 Jan. (Yonhap) — The Bangtan Boys (BTS) group has scored with their anthology album «Proof» the album of the year award at the 37th Golden Disc Awards, for the sixth year in a row.
At this major K-pop event held on Saturday at the Rajamangala National Stadium in Thailand, the septet won a total of four awards, including the award for TikTok’s most popular artist.
One of its members, J-Hope, who made his solo debut with “Jake in the Box” last July, picked up the “Thai Fans Support with Baozi” award.
BTS closed the first chapter of its nine-year career in 2022. Its seven members will perform their mandatory military service in the coming years. Jin, its oldest member, joined the army last month.
Le girls band IVE won Best Newcomer of the Year and his hit ‘Love Dive’ won Best Digital Song. Seo Hyun-joo, Vice President of Starship Entertainment, was voted Producer of the Year for her role in the girl group’s debut.
Singer-rapper Psy, who released his sixth studio album “Psy 9th”, was awarded the prize for artist of the year.
