Mumbai: Chetan Sharma is once more the Chairman of the Indian Cricket Team Selection Committee. The other members of the selection committee are Shivsundar Das, Subrato Banerjee, Salil Ankola and S Sarath, ESPNcricinfo also reported.
Apart from Chetan Sharma, four members of the selection committee are new faces. Chetan Sharma was sacked by the BCCI in November following India’s poor performance in the Twenty20 World Cup.
It is reported that the Cricket Advisory Committee has selected a five-member team from the six hundred applications received by the BCCI for the new selection committee. Ashok Malhotra, Sulakshana Naik and Jatin Paranjpe are members of the BCCI Advisory Committee. Interviews of the applicants were conducted by the advisory committee.
The person appointed as the Chairman of the Selection Committee will get an annual remuneration of Rs 1.25 crore. Other members of the committee will also get Rs 1 crore as annual remuneration.
