Wall Street’s main indices closed higher on Friday, supported by reports that although jobs increased in the United States more than expected, wage increases slowed and services activity contracted, easing concerns regarding the path of interest rate hikes by the Federal Reserve.
The Standard & Poor’s 500 index closed up 86.34 points, equivalent to 2.27%, to 3894.44 points, and the Nasdaq Composite Index increased by 259.71 points, or 2.52%, to 10564.95 points, according to Archyde.com.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 694.21 points, or 2.11%. to 33624.29 points.
