Select Code Care of the mentally illProcedures and guarantees for the protection and care of the patient, as well as the rights of the mental patient, and includes the formation of a committee to regulate the profession of psychological treatment for non-psychiatrists, to set a package of controls for the work of non-doctors regarding the provision of mental patient care service.
The Psychiatric Patient Care Law provides for the formation of a committee to “regulate the practice of the profession of psychotherapy for non-psychiatrists,” with the following specializations:
1) Setting standards and requirements for practicing the profession of psychotherapy for non-psychiatrists.
2) Determine the training programs necessary to practice the profession for non-psychiatrists.
3) Investigate a licensed therapist who violates the provisions of this law or the standards or ethics of practicing the profession.
4) Formation of disciplinary councils.
The committee shall have a technical secretariat, to be formed by a decision of the Minister concerned with health and population, to receive applications for licenses or their renewal.
The Psychiatric Patient Care Law specifies the punishment of a psychiatrist in the event that he commits a violation by diagnosing or treating diseases or undertaking any organic treatment, which only doctors may practice, or by examining the patient’s body or writing any medical or medication prescriptions for him.
