The Washington Capitals defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets 6-2 in the away game of the NHL regular season.

As part of the winners, one of the goals was scored by Russian forward Alexander Ovechkin (54th minute), Jay Oshie (21, 47), Nicholas Obe-Kubel (32), Martin Fehervari (38) and Garnet Hathaway (39) also scored. Losers have goals on account of Johnny Gaudreau (6) and Gavin Beiruter (33).

Ovechkin scored for the fourth game in a row, with a total of 809 goals in the regular season, in the history of the NHL, the Russian is second only to Wayne Gretzky (894).
