A team of professionals from the General and/or Family Medicine Residence of the Dr. Pedro T. Orellana Municipal Hospital, accompanied by the director of municipal Community Health, Victoria Domínguez, offered a workshop on prevention and health promotion to young members of the Jerk space in Beruti.
The meeting took place outdoors, in the facilities of the “Santa Clotilde” Sanitary Unit and allowed the exchange between professionals and young people who were interested in the proposal.
The workshop was dictated by the Head of Residents, Dr. Soledad Ortega; the 1st year resident Dr. Estefanía Gravier and the 4th year resident Dr. Jeremías Velázquez, and was coordinated by the Youth Office, led by Emilia Cueli and with the collaboration of Marita Zanollo, who coordinates the Envion space in Beruti.
Young people between the ages of 12 and 17 participated, and the topics addressed by the professionals were: contraceptive methods and sexually transmitted infections.
The workshop is one of the many proposals that the Envión space work team has been carrying out, together with the Youth Office and the Beruti Delegation, and which aim to strengthen this space that has had a very good response from the youth of the community.
