Authorities say that sea snakes are increasing on Abu Dhabi beaches. The Abu Dhabi Meteorological Agency has advised beachgoers to be vigilant. The Abu Dhabi Meteorological Agency (EAD) said that sea snakes are common on beaches during winter and people should be careful.
In winter, sea snakes come ashore to breed. They breed on beaches and coral reefs. Snakes come to the coast when the temperature drops below 22 degrees Celsius. This week the weather in Abu Dhabi dipped to 21 degrees Celsius. The EAD has warned once morest touching sea snakes or handling dead snakes. These are poisonous. It rarely bites. The EAD also said that if bitten, seek medical help immediately.
