MSI’s latest Titan GT gaming laptop comes with the world’s first 4K 144Hz mini LED display

MSI is refreshing some of its most popular and powerful gaming laptops at CES 2023. And getting a special treat with options up to the new, Nvidia RTX 4090 mobile GPUs are the Titan GT series, Raider GE series, and Vector PE series. And to make the lineup even more personal, the Titan GT and Raider GE both feature private screen displays, with the Titan GT featuring the world’s first 4K 144Hz mini LED screen. Besides, there are creator laptops and more.

MSI Titan, Raider and Vector gaming laptops

MSI’s entire new series is packed with performance galore, with processors and graphics being pushed to a total of 250W full power, 5.2GHz frequency across all eight performance cores in the 13th Generation Intel chip. Starting with the Titan GT, the new 17.3-inch 4K 144Hz LED Mini Display can reach 1,000 nits of peak brightness, and offers 1,000 local dimming zones for more efficient gaming. Other design elements include a Cherry Mechanical Per-Key RGB gaming keyboard, 720p Windows Hello webcam with shutter, and MUX graphics mode switch.

As for the Raider GE, it has a 16:10 aspect ratio and a 17-inch QHD+ 240 Hz display, which is new. The Raider GE also features new bodywork and a new, more vibrant front light bar. With Vector GP’s design, meanwhile, the profile is slimmer and there’s a new minimalist effect better suited to STEM and engineering users.

You’ll notice that performance and design are the themes of a lot of MSI’s new laptops at CES 2023. Pricing for the MSI Titan GT77HX starts at $4,299 when available. Pricing for the MSI Raider GE78HX will start at $2,999 when available.

The MSI Stealth has been redesigned and comes in different sizes

MSI’s Stealth series is better than ever thanks to an update at CES 2023. The lineup now comes in 14-, 15-, 16-, or 17-inch screen sizes and picks up performance updates with the latest 13th Gen Intel Core H-series processors and Nvidia RTX 40 mobile GPUs -series.

Of particular note is the Stealth series, which has been updated to the newly designed Stealth 14 Studio and Stealth 16 Studio. These two new laptops have a newer thin and lightweight magnesium alloy chassis. Other than that, the Stealth 14 Studio sports MSI Vapor Chamber thermal design for better cooling and greater thermal coverage. Meanwhile, the Stealth 16 Studio has a proprietary triple “Dynaudio” 6-speaker setup for immersive audio experiences.

More importantly, the Stealth 16 Studio features a 16:10 aspect ratio UHD+ display, which has a high refresh rate of 120Hz. There’s also new RGB lighting on the back of all of these laptops, which brightens up the Stealth branding and larger touchpads. Note that these two laptops, along with the larger Stealth 17 Studio, also have Nvidia Studio validation, for use in game development or content creation.

As for the new Stealth 15 special, this gaming laptop sports a 240Hz QHD OLED screen, which is quite rare. The screen reaches a response time of 0.2ms and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut.

In terms of price, the Stealth 17 Studio starts at $2,799. The new Stealth 15 starts at $1,600. The Stealth 14 will be available at Best Buy and will start at $1,600. The Stealth 16 from MSI will also be available at Best Buy and will come in at $1,200. It is not clear when these new products will be available.

Cyborg 15 hits the entry-level gaming price point

In addition to refreshing its existing range, MSI has launched a new gaming laptop, the Cyborg 15. Featuring a unique design, this new gaming laptop has a transparent body. It’s also thin and lightweight, which seems great for those who want throwback-feeling technology.

With a starting price of $999, the new Cyborg 15 comes with a 15.6-inch FHD display, set to a 144Hz refresh rate. It also features options for either an Intel Core i7-12650H or a Core i5-12450H CPU, both of which are still last year’s 12th generation chips. For the GPU, you can choose either the Nvidia RTX 4050 or RTX 4060 mobile GPUs which come with 8GB of GDDR6 RAM or 6GB of GDRR6 memory, respectively. DDR5 RAM and Wi-Fi 6E are standard, as well as a PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD.

But going back to the design, you’ll notice that the Cyborg 15 comes with a sci-fi-like semi-transparent outline around the side of the laptop. This means you’ll be able to peek into the corners and bottom of your laptop and see the inner workings of the fan blades as well as the cooling. It’s a modern look, and MSI has incorporated its trademark geometries for added width into the chassis. Even the keyboard has a slightly translucent touch, with the WASD keys highlighted, for instant game control. For curious minds, MSI says this keyboard has a 1.7mm key travel, and there are handy hotkeys for volume control. As for the weight, it comes in at 1.98kg with a thickness of 21.95mm.

In a press release, MSI says this Cyborg 15 laptop is for “those bored with casual gaming design,” but those looking for something more casual can check out MSI’s Katana, Sword, and Pulse laptops. Along with bumps on the Intel 13th Gen and RTX 40-series CPUs, they’ve been updated with MUX keys to increase performance in games and to switch between hybrid graphics mode and discrete graphics mode.

The new MSI stylus with haptic feedback

MSI is launching the new MSI Pen 2 at CES 2023. This next-generation digital pen is completely unique, working as a traditional pencil on paper (thanks to the graphite tip) but also with any Windows laptop or device that supports MPP 2.6 technology.

Pricing hasn’t been shared on the new pen, but the new pen has 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity, and like the Surface Pen 2, it also has haptic feedback. Related, MSI has updated the Creator series so that Creator Z17 HX Studio and Creator Z16 HX Studio can use the latest 13th Gen Intel HX processors, and NVIDIA Studio graphics. The laptops also have Vapor Chamber Coolers for increased performance.

This also relates to the updated Prestige series. The new Prestige 14 Evo and Prestige 16 Evo both support an Intel Core i7 H-series CPU, and the Prestige 16 Studio has the new GeForce RTX 40 laptop CPU. There’s also a new 13-inch Prestige 13 Evo, which is the lightest computer MSI laptop so far weighs in at 2.18 lbs.

An end to MSI ads is an update to the Modern series. The laptop picks up new color options including starburst blue and beige pink. These laptops also have a MacBook-like design that caters to “everyday cravings” according to MSI. Pricing on these laptops hasn’t been announced before CES 2023.

Pricing for the Creator Series has not been announced at the time of publication. But you can buy the Prestige 13 Evo for $1,199. The Prestige 14 Evo will be priced at $1,299. Finally, the Prestige 16 Evo will be priced at $1,899. Note that Prestige 14 and Prestige 13 do not have a dedicated GPU. The Prestige 16 will only offer the option of Nvidia RTX 4060 graphics with 8GB of GDDR6 memory.
