Criminals who assaulted a group of cyclists in Monserrate were captured

Recalling the massive robbery that occurred on August 18, one of the first testimonies of the victims indicated: “We began to see that people came down in a hurry. The workers began to ask them what was happening and they told us that two men with bladed weapons and firearms were robbing them. Some were injured, many fell due to the desire to go down and for the authorities to pick them up. But the authorities have been here since 6 am and they mightn’t catch anyone.”.

Similarly, Mayor Claudia López condemned the criminal act and pointed out that she has given orders to the authorities to capture those responsible for the crime.

I regret the theft and anguish caused today to some citizens in Monserrate. I have reiterated the precise instructions to @PoliciaBogota and @SeguridadBOG to capture those responsible and not to neglect the surveillance device that the eastern hills and Monserrate must have”.

On more judicial information from Bogotá: the prosecution General of the Nation indicated that he managed to expose four subjects, three members of the same family, accused of contacting young people in Bogota to induce them to sexual activities. According to the police investigation, it was found that a man, his two parents and an acquaintance would be involved in a case of human trafficking in which they would have retained one of the victims, and subjected her to sexual acts and forced her to do domestic chores.

As indicated in one of the cases that are attributed to this network, apparently a woman was detained in a building and forced to commit sexual acts, in addition to that they would have taken her money and her identity documents: “was forced to perform domestic work without remuneration in exchange”, pointed out the Attorney General’s Office.

From the control entity it was indicated that “through the Specialized Directorate once morest Human Rights Violations and the Cundinamarca Section, and in an investigative work articulated with the DIJIN of the National Police, exposed the family group accused of contacting young people in Bogotá and inducing them to engage in sexual activities For commercial purposes”.

The versions and elements collected by the investigative entity indicate that the women who were contacted through social networks ended up being offered as sex workers in the capital and other municipalities surrounding the city: “They were located through social networks and in bars, linked to a virtual community in which sexual services were offered, where they created a profile; and transferred to meet intimate meetings in Funza, Mosquera, Madrid, Facatativá and other municipalities in the northern and western savannah of Bogotá”.
