A deputy from Spain’s far-right Vox party, Victor Gonzalez, announced on Wednesday that he had been expelled from Bolivia where he had come to support imprisoned opponent Luis Fernando Camacho. “While I was already sitting inside the plane two agents informed me very correctly that I was expelled from Bolivia”, tweeted the deputy, photos of his expulsion order in support .
Bolivian Deputy Foreign Minister Freddy Mamani, for his part, explained at a press conference that Victor Gonzalez had come to “generate violence in the country” and had committed “acts that disturb order audience”.
The deputy had arrived last weekend in the country, invited by the Civic Committee of Santa Cruz, a powerful citizens’ and employers’ organization which supports Mr. Camacho, governor of the province of Santa Cruz and main figure of the opposition. Luis Fernando Camacho was jailed last Friday, accused by the prosecution of having fomented a “coup” in 2019 once morest the leftist ex-president Evo Morales, who left power that year.
