A new PS5 controller that can be controlled with one hand was unveiled at CES.
On the 5th, Sony announced ‘Project Leonardo’, an accessibility controller for PS5 through CES Sony presentation. Project Leonardo is a PS5 accessibility controller kit unveiled by Sony for the first time. It can be operated with one hand by arranging buttons and sticks around a circular structural plate. Through this, players who have difficulty using DualSense, which is used with both hands, can enjoy the game.
Project Leonardo can arrange analog sticks and buttons of various shapes and sizes, allowing players to customize it to suit their individual circumstances. In addition, the distance between the stick and the pad can be adjusted, and up to three button mapping and control profiles can be applied, enabling optimized control tailored to each game.
Cooperative play is also possible in combination with DualSense, and usability is enhanced with third-party accessories and extensions. The controller pad is also designed to be conveniently placed on the floor, so it can be placed on a wheelchair tray, and it is also possible to fix the controller by installing it on the AMPS mount.
Project Leonardo is in the development phase and is receiving feedback on the device.
