The Galaxy A54 is one of Samsung’s most anticipated smartphones. This mid-range model will have the heavy task of succeeding one of the brand’s bestsellers in 2022, the Galaxy A53 5G. We take stock of the new information around the Galaxy A54 and its technical data sheet.
Samsung highlights its Galaxy S and Galaxy Z in its communication, but most of its sales come from its “A” range. After a Galaxy A53 5G which sold like hot cakes in 2022, eyes are logically turning to the A54 5G. That’s good, we have new information regarding him.
The promises of the Galaxy A54 5G
Last November, the first images of the Galaxy A54 were shared on the Internet. We discover a sober, but distinctive design which makes the choice of coherence between the different references of Galaxy smartphones. Indeed, the camera block and its three vertically aligned modules should represent the signature of Samsung smartphones in 2023.
A few days ago, our colleagues from Android Headlines shared new images of the phone in four colors: yellow, white, black and purple. Samsung will obviously find better names to designate the colors of its Galaxy A54 5G. The dimensions of the mobile should be more or less the same as those of its predecessor: 158.3 x 76.7 x 8.2 mm.
The release date of the Galaxy A54 5G might be set for March or April, a few weeks following the presentation of the Galaxy S23 which will take place in February. The price of the phone is not yet known, but it should be in the same price range as the Galaxy A53 5G, which was launched at 459 euros. A quality-price ratio that has earned him to join our selection of the best smartphones between 300 and 600 euros.
A complete technical sheet or almost
It is the famous tipster Yogesh Brar who published on his Twitter account the probable technical sheet of the Samsung Galaxy A54 5G. Characteristics that suggest that the Korean brand should not upset its formula, but might make some improvements here and there.
Thus, we would find a 6.4-inch Full HD + AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, 128 or 256 GB of storage, 6 or 8 GB of RAM, but also a new Exynos 1380 chip. 40% more performance compared to the Exynos 1280 of the A53 5G. This would not be a luxury considering the slowdowns we encountered during our review of the Galaxy A53 5G.

Like its predecessor, the new SoC would consist of eight cores, but with a different distribution. Indeed, it would have four high-performance cores and four cores dedicated to energy efficiency, once morest only two high-performance cores on the current model.
On the photo side, the camera block might carry three modules of 50, 12 and 5 megapixels. We hope that Samsung will get rid of its most useless photo sensor in passing. The front camera would be 32 megapixels. Like the A53, the A54 would benefit from a 5000 mAh battery and compatibility with 25W charging. On this price range, the IP67 waterproof certification is a rare enough refinement to be mentioned.
The Galaxy A54 5G should also be entitled to Samsung’s generous update policy which offers four years of major Android updates and five years of security updates. The phone would ship directly to Android 13 with the OneUI 5.0 interface.
