cheap PC upgrade up to 200 €

Hello, everyone,

with the search I was able to find out that the black screen was due to a defective mainboard. I therefore need a new one or I would like to switch to an AM4 system.

1. Do you want to play on PC?

  • Games: EFT, Battlefront 2, Borderlands 3, …
  • Resolution: Full HD (1920×1080)
  • Ultra/high/medium/low graphics settings? present…
  • Is 30 enough for you? FPS or should it be 60 or even 144 FPS? I’ve heard of ~60 FPS before

2. Would you like to use the PC for image/music/video editing or CAD? As a hobby or are you a professional? What software will you use?

from time to time home office:

AutoCAD
TurboCAD

3. Do you have special requirements or wishes (overclocking, a particularly quiet PC, RGB lighting, …)?

No OC, no RGB (closed housing available)

4. How many and which monitors do you want to use? Number, model, resolution, refresh rate (Hertz)? Is FreeSync (AMD) or G-Sync (Nvidia) supported? (Please with a link to the manufacturer or price comparison!)

1x 24 inch full HD from acer

5. Do you still have an old PC, parts of which might be reused? (Please with links to the specifications from the manufacturer or price comparison!)

current PC

  • Processor (CPU): AMD A4-5000 (existing: FX 6300)
  • Main memory (RAM): 2x 4GB 1600 DDR3 (available: 2x 4GB 1333 DDR3)
  • Mainboard: HP 2171 (replaced my broken MSI 970a-G43)
  • PSU: be quiet Straight Power 11 550W
  • Housing: M25 Silent PCGH
  • Graphics card: GTX 970 4GB
  • HDD / SSD: 1x SSD, 3x HDD
  • Cooler: Noctua NH-D15

6. How much money are you willing to spend?

< 200€

7. When do you want to buy the PC? As soon as possible or can you wait a few weeks/months?

timely

8. Do you want the PC

Since the current CPU clearly exceeds its limit with office work and the mainboard only has 2 SATA connections (need 6 SATA connections), so I currently have to change the hard drives manually to get all the data. I am therefore looking for a new system in the near future, would also replace the AM3 system with an AM4 system.

Means I’m looking for a new CPU, motherboard and RAM.

Found the following cheap components in classified ads:

CPU: Ryzen 1600 – 40€
Mainboard: MSI B450 Tomahawk Max – 85€
Memory: 1x bar 32GB Dell HyperX Fury DDR4 3200 – 50€

Quick side questions:

1. Fits a 32GB ram bar on any B450 motherboard with no problem. Always read max. 64GB memory, but not how much a single bar may have max.

2. Does the Noctua-NH-D15 fit on a Ryzen CPU that was previously attached to an AMD FX CPU?

Thanks for the help!

Greetings Gaerdy
