NFL: Brady leads Bucs back to playoffs

As so often this season, Brady and Co. had to catch up in Florida. After trailing 10-14 halfway through the game, the 2020/21 Super Bowl winner turned the game around with a 20-10 in the final period. Brady shone during this phase, throwing for 432 yards gain and three touchdowns to Mike Evans, the receiver catching passes for 63, 57 and 30 yards. For Evans it was the first touchdowns following a dry spell of three months.

“We’ve had to fight a lot this season, now we’re happy that we won the division. That’s always tough. Winning NFL games is tough, and we always seem to find an exciting way to win them. I wish it wasn’t always so exciting,” said Brady, who is in his third season at Tampa Bay with the Bucs in postseason. In general, Brady is in the 14th season in a row in the play-off.

Green Bay earns “Finals”

After an equally difficult season, the Green Bay Packers now have their destiny in their own hands once more. Superstar Aaron Rodgers’ team defeated the Minnesota Vikings, who had already qualified for the post-season, 41:17 and would be there with a home win once morest the Detroit Lions next Sunday.

The Packers defense held star receiver Justin Jefferson with just 15 yards gain

In the fifth win in a row, the Packers’ defense shone once once more, keeping star receiver Justin Jefferson in check and in the end only at 15 yards. Safety Darnell Savage also had a touchdown for 75 yards from an interception in the first quarter following cornerback Keisean Nixon carried a kickoff for 105 yards into the end zone and put the Packers on track early in the game.

At the end of the second quarter, Rodgers threw a touchdown pass to Robert Tonyan for a 24:3 lead. In the middle of the final section, the 39-year-old quarterback ran into the end zone himself. The Lions also beat the Chicago Bears 41-10, and the Seattle Seahawks still have a chance of qualifying for the post-season following beating the New York Jets 23-6.

Giants back for the first time since 2016

The Indianapolis Colts conceded their sixth loss in a row with the Austrian Bernhard Raimann. In the away game once morest the New York Giants it was 10:38. Even before the game, the Colts had no chance of making the playoffs, but the Giants are back for the first time since 2016.

In the AFC, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Tennessee Titans will fight in a direct duel for the division title and thus the playoff entry on the last day of the main round. The New England Patriots, the Miami Dolphins and the Pittsburgh Steelers also still have chances, all three teams have a record of eight wins and eight losses. The New York Jets’ dry spell has been extended to at least 13 years, and no team in the league has been waiting longer to participate.

Record loss for Rams

The Los Angeles Rams conceded another bankruptcy with the 10:36 in the city duel once morest the Chargers. It was the eleventh defeat for the defending champions, and no reigning champion lost as many times the following season as head coach Sean McVay’s team, who lost eleven times in five wins.
