The Zurich Lions started 2023 with a bang. For the first match on the bench of new coach Marc Crawford, they beat Biel 2-1 following a tight game.
The Zurichers thus prevented the Seelanders from taking the lead in the standings. But their victory was won in sweat, the two teams being very close to each other.
Texier gave the advantage to the Lions from the 4th in numerical superiority. Biel replied with Brunner (23rd), also 5 once morest 4. Then, despite several penalties on both sides, the score remained blocked for a long time on this 1-1. Zurich ended up passing the shoulder thanks to a success of Azevedo (52nd).
The visitors pushed over and over once more to try and equalise, but to no avail. Even the exit of their goalkeeper Rytz following 58’44 did not allow them to come back.
