The Red Cross responded to 423 humanitarian cases

The Lebanese Red Cross announced that, as a whole year, and keeping pace with the celebrations on the occasion of the New Year, and in response to calls for emergency and immediate relief, all centers of ambulance and emergency teams and its operating rooms are in a state of full readiness on most of the lands, supported by paramedics, who numbered approximately 800 paramedics, male and female, and regarding 190 ambulances. .

He indicated, in a statement, that calls were received on the emergency number 140, and the number of emergency cases that were transferred or responded to reached from 2:00 pm yesterday, Saturday, December 31, 2022, until 7:00 am today, Sunday, January 1, 2023. A total of 423 humanitarian cases distributed as follows:

– 17 injuries from traffic accidents
– 5 wounded as a result of problems
10 cases of drunkenness, vomiting and fatigue
– 11 heart cases
– 13 cases of cardiopulmonary revival
– 239 diverse emergency missions
– 128 standard ambulance missions

The statement stated that the number of traffic accidents reported to Red Cross operations amounted to 15, and the blood transfusion centers in Beirut (Spears) and Tripoli, which on New Year’s Eve met the demand for blood units according to requests received from hospitals and on the hotline 1760.

The statement said: “In addition to that, and in coordination with the army, the Red Cross accompanied yesterday evening the process of rescuing the surviving people who were on board the boat that sank off Selaata, following they were transferred by the army to the port of Tripoli, where the crews worked to provide basic supplies for everyone, including food.” And water and psychological support, as well as first aid for those in need, and two bodies and 4 various health cases were transported, all of them to the region’s hospitals.

He added, “The Red Cross continues to perform its humanitarian missions, responding to calls on the free emergency number 140, as well as receiving calls to help provide blood units and any medical advice regarding cholera, corona, or other diseases on the hotline 1760.”
