A man living in Al-Marg neighborhood in Cairo governorate killed his six-year-old child, following his ex-wife won a custody case, according to media reports.
Marwa, the mother of the child Badr, explained in statements to the newspaper:DaybreakShe said that she separated from her husband two years ago for his misbehavior and his continuous beating and humiliation, but her only child, Badr, continued to hesitate between them until she learned that his father “severely beat him.”
She confirmed that one day she saw her child’s body mutilated by the severity of his torture, so she decided to file a lawsuit to include custody of the child with his grandmother, the mother’s mother.
The mother indicated that she had given birth to her son following 16 years of waiting, pointing out that when his father learned of the court ruling that the mother’s family had the right to include custody of the child, he decided to “ignite fire in my heart and take revenge on me and deprive me of my only child forever.”
Investigations revealed that the father severely beat his child with a thick stick, “Al-Shouma” all over his body, amid attempts by the child to escape from his hands.
The killer father admitted that he was trampling his little one under his feet until he breathed his last, and then he fled to his eldest son from another marriage, who lives in the Al-Zawiya Al-Hamra neighborhood. The latter refused to cover it up and clashed with his father before handing him over to the police.
The mother referred to the many differences between her and her ex-husband, his constant assault on her, his detention, his drug use and his betrayal of her.
