The development of STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl Rebuild has been going on intermittently for several years now
The first part has been released S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl Rebuild. This is a remaster of the original game, which has been in development for several years now.
The first version of Shadow of Chernobyl Rebuild includes only high resolution textures. The set occupies almost 5 gigabytes and contains over 4 thousand textures created by the main author of the remaster Andrey Olegov and Ivan Danko, who allowed to use their grass textures in the project.
The remaster uses an improved version of the X-Ray Engine called OGSR. Craftsmen believe that the engine of the original game simply might not cope with the updated textures.
The remaster runs on the GeForce GTX 1050, but the creators recommend using SSD or NVMe SSDs, since a regular hard drive will not be fast enough.
Future versions of Shadow of Chernobyl Rebuild will include updated AI, sound, improved weather and lighting systems, and new weapons.
