A preliminary balance of 20 houses affected have left the different forest fires that have been registered during this Friday in the Bio bio region.
This was confirmed by the presidential delegate, Daniela Dresdner, following the Emergency Committee held overnight in the commune of Santa Juana.

In Santa Juana, for its part, nearly 100 families were evacuated. The third place where SAE messaging was activated was in Cabrero.
20 houses affected by forest fires in Bío Bío
As detailed by delegate Dresdner, according to the preliminary information they handle, there are 20 houses affected, a number that might increase once it is possible to enter the areas affected by the fire.
“What we have been able to raise, speaking with the mayor of Nacimiento, the municipal administrator of Santa Juana and the municipality of Cabrero, is that we have 20 affected homes,” he said.
“Of them, four would be in Nacimiento, two would be in Cabrero and 14 would be in Santa Juana,” he said.
Also, the authority asked to obey the evacuation messages to avoid tragedies.
“Life comes first, so we ask people that if they receive an evacuation message in the sector in which they live, please pay attention to that message. The houses are being protected and we do not want to have human losses, ”she insisted.
On the other hand, Dresdner requested collaboration from the neighbors to denounce people who might be causing new sources of fire.
“If you observe someone committing an act suspected of starting a fire, please report it. We have to catch the people who are intentionally committing these fires and for that we need all of them,” he said.
Forest fire consumed rural school in Santa Juana
For her part, the Secretary of Education, Elizabeth Chávez, reported that the rural school in the La Huerta sector in Santa Juana, which has four students, was burned.
“We want to give families peace of mind, that we are not occupying,” emphasized the seremi, who added that they will work so that students have a campus in March.
This week a planning study will be carried out to evaluate the place and give an answer to the students. Along these lines, Chávez added that they have emergency resources.

As pointed out by Conaf regional director, Rodrigo Jara, The most complex fire has been that of Nacimiento and Santa Juana, which has affected 5,000 hectares, mainly pine and eucalyptus plantations, as well as scrub and native vegetation, together with agricultural plantations and vineyards.

In this sense, he pointed out that the greatest complexity has been the topography of the area affected by the fire, which allowed its rapid spread, together with the wind with gusts of over 40 kilometers per hour.
In this regard, the regional director of Onemi, Alejandro Sandoval, He called on the population to take extreme measures and avoid risky behaviors, especially this December 31, on New Year’s Eve.
“We hope that people do not use fireworks, which are prohibited,” Sandoval emphasized.
