Shabwah, on December 30, 2020, WAM / Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works launched a project to develop hospitals in the Yemeni governorate of Shabwah, within the framework of modernizing and supporting the health system in the governorate.
This project comes within the framework of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” and the follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Foundation, to alleviate the human suffering of the Yemeni people by adopting health initiatives. The quality of comprehensive care in light of the difficulties the health sector suffers from.
The project includes rehabilitating, restoring and equipping hospitals in Shabwa governorate with health supplies, providing them with medical staff and specializations to ensure their workflow, and provide health care to Yemeni citizens.
Work on the project will begin in two phases, the first includes equipping and rehabilitating four pivotal hospitals that are a priority in the province, followed by the second phase, which includes 12 pivotal hospitals in the various directorates of Shabwa province.
The Assistant Undersecretary of Shabwa Governorate, Salem Shamh Al-Nasi, and the Director General of the Public Health Office in Shabwa Governorate, Dr. Ali Nasser Al-Wolf, the representative of the Khalifa Foundation for Humanitarian Works, Mr. Nader Abdul Rahman Al-Mulla, and a number of department directors and specialists in the Public Health and Population Office in Shabwa Governorate.
Assistant Undersecretary of Shabwa Governorate, Salem Al-Nasi, stressed the importance of this initiative in support of the health sector and its needs in Shabwa Governorate, expressing his thanks and appreciation for the efforts made by the UAE through its humanitarian arm, the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works.
In turn, the Director General of the Public Health and Population Office in Shabwa Governorate, Dr. Ali Nasser Al-Wolf with this initiative, stressing that it will constitute a shift in the health sector in the governorate, and it comes within the efforts of the Khalifa Foundation to develop and raise the level of services provided by the health sector in the governorate.
