Investing.com – US stocks were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.
At the end of trading in New York, it closed at an increase of 1.05%, while it rose by regarding 1.75% and consolidated its position at 2.59%.
Among the leading stocks today was The Walt Disney Company (NYSE: NYSE), which rose 3.58%, or 3.01 points, to close at 87.18. On the other hand, Salesforce Inc (NYSE:) added 3.17% or 4.07 points to end at 132.54, while Apple Inc (NASDAQ:) added 2.83% or 3.57 points to 129.61 by the end of the session.
As for the worst performer at the end of the day’s trading, Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc (NASDAQ:) closed down by 0.29%, or 0.11 points, and traded at 37.47 levels at the close. Merck & Co. (NYSE:) declined 0.23%, or 0.26 points, to end at 110.82. Boeing Co (NYSE:) closed up 0.28%, or 0.53 points, at 188.91.
On the other hand, the best performance in the Standard & Poor’s 500 index was recorded by a stock SVB Financial Gro (NASDAQ:), which rose by 8.40% at a price of 234.63, Tesla (NASDAQ:) also continued its rise at 8.08% and closed at 121.82 levels, as well as Warner Bros Discovery Inc (NASDAQ:) rose by 6.31% and ended its trading. At a price of 9.43.
Among the stocks that underperformed today, we mention Cardinal Health Inc. (NYSE:), which fell by 1.12%, closing at a price of 77.72, CF Industries Holdings (NYSE:), which lost 0.96%, at a price of 85.51, and Amerisource Bergen Corp. (NYSE:), which weakened by 0.78% and closed at 166.05 in today’s session on the stock market.
On the other hand, the best performance in the Nasdaq index was recorded by shares Hoth Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:), which rose 143.64% at 10.72, Kala Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:) also continued its rise at 99.04% and closed at 24.84 levels, as well as Palisade Bio Inc (NASDAQ:) rose by 77.90% and closed at a price of 3.22.
Among the stocks that performed the worst today, we mention FStar Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell by 40.38%, and closed its session at a price of 4.09, Jasper Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:) stock, which lost 21.97%, at a price of 0.46, and Th International stock. Ltd (NASDAQ:), which weakened by 20.00% and closed at 2.60 for the day’s session on the stock exchange.
The number of gainers exceeded the number of shares that closed lower in trading on the New York Stock Exchange with 2654 compared to 448, while 72 remained unchanged. As for the Nasdaq stock exchange, 3071 of the stocks strengthened their position and 666 retreated, while 133 of the stocks maintained their value.
Shares of Jasper Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to an all-time low, losing 21.97%, or 0.13 points, at a price of 0.46. Shares of Th International Ltd (NASDAQ:) fell to an all-time record low, falling 20.00%, or 0.65 points, to 2.60.

The EUR/USD pair added 0.56% and traded at 1.07 levels, while the USD/JPY pair continued its decline by 1.12%, reaching 132.96 levels.
Dollar index futures traded down by 0.48%, at 103.68.
