A few days ago there was information that NVIDIA plans to price NVIDIA RTX 4070 Ti at $899. And today, multiple sources from major portals have revealed that they received a last-minute update from the greens with what appears to be a pre-launch price cut and the current NVIDIA RTX 4070 Ti tentative MSRP of $799.
Some stores have already started accepting orders for the recommended price of $899 and even higher. However, they were told today that the tentative launch date is now $799 and the difference will be adjusted for existing orders. Since we are closer to launch, this price is likely to continue (although this is just a guess).
Don’t forget, however, that Jensen owns the black leather jacket, and we all must submit to his authority. So he can easily snap his fingers and change the recommended prices at the very last moment if he wants to. That’s why it’s still a rumor – because until the marketing and documentation is ready for launch, such details may change.
The main reason NVIDIA might have changed their mind might be the fact that 25% GPU rates were due to renew 1/1 and were delayed by the US government for 9 months.
But, of course, the main reason is probably the completely weak popularity of the NVIDIA RTX 4080, which is very difficult to sell off the shelves, unlike its more expensive counterpart – the NVIDIA RTX 4090.
