According to the document, signed by the Chief Minister of the Institutional Security Office, General Augusto Heleno, the trip will take place between December 28 and 29.

According to the order, Heleno removed Second Sergeant Aline Amancio, who was assigned to the body’s Secretary of Security and Presidential Coordination, from her duties to accompany the outgoing president, Jair Bolsonaro, on his trip to Miami.

The transfer of the military to reinforce the security team of the ultra-right president is contained in the order published by the Official Gazette.

Press outlets point out that this would be the first concrete indication that Bolsonaro plans to leave the country to avoid participating in the inauguration of the president-elect, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, scheduled for Sunday, January 1.

Consequently, the transfer of the presidential sash will not take place, a tradition that in the South American nation has strong institutional and democratic symbolism.

According to journalistic reports, until now the possibility of this trip by Bolsonaro was only conjectured, who hardly appears in public and has not acknowledged his defeat at the polls once morest Lula on October 30.

Hours ago, Bolsonaro himself told a US media outlet that the reports that he is traveling to the US and that he will meet or issue a message to his followers before leaving the country are false. However, the media recall that the outgoing president is an expert using fake news.
